Student Faculty Judicial Committee (SFJC) Application

Dear juniors and seniors,

You are invited to apply for participation in the Student Faculty Judicial Committee (SFJC).

The SFJC assists the Dean of Students in making recommendations for action to the Head of School in matters of discipline, particularly in cases where a Major School Rules was broken. It ensures that students in breach of school rules are treated fairly and in a manner free of external pressures and prejudices, and in line with our philosophy of restorative justice.

The SFJC consists of eight US students who are elected by the faculty and eight faculty members elected by the students. The Dean of Students calls the SFJC in discipline cases that involve a violation of a major school rule. The SFJC meets to review evidence, to interview the student who broke a rule, to discuss appropriate measures, and provides a recommendation for disciplinary action to the Head of School.

An appointment to the SFJC runs for one year. It is expected that you will be available for most meetings, maintain absolute confidentiality, and set an example of sound leadership to all students at all times. Please be mindful when applying that these meetings usually occur after school and with little warning, and may interfere with other commitments.

To be eligible for SFJC, you must be in 11th or 12th grade, have attended MPH for at least one year, and not appeared in front of the SFJC at any time. To apply to be a member of the SFJC, you must complete the following application.
