Have Lunch with MPH Alumni!

Here is a great opportunity to learn about a variety of professions, and to start networking with college students and professionals: have lunch with MPH alumni in the Dining Hall!

Next Thursday, December 12, meet Maya Stevens-Uninsky’10, Senior at McGill University.

Maya Stevens-Uninsky (MPH class of '10) is in her final year at McGill University, in Montreal, Quebec. She is majoring in Political Science, with a focus on developing areas in sub-Saharan Africa, and has a minor in women’s studies and educational psychology, which she wants to take into public health education for women and children. In the last year she was in Africa, doing a semester abroad at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, where she worked volunteering and doing service work in local schools and informal settlements. She later backpacked up the continent and worked in Malawi with a mobile health clinic (the Blantyre North Relief Fund), and doing orphan surveys (with the Malawi Children’s Village). In January she will be heading to Haiti, to do a PhotoVoice program with Project Istwa.

Maya will speak with students about taking advantage of  opportunities while in college to go abroad to study and to perform service work as a volunteer. Students who would like to have lunch with Maya are asked sign up in the Dean of Students' Office.

This is the first in a series of alumni-student lunches planned by Maureen Anderson, Director of Alumni Relations at MPH.
